KING AND THE KINGDOM

                                 KING AND THE KINGDOM

The king would make amends for the past by affection and submission- said Froude. It's very true. A king should use his powers but tenderly because it's not like an execution. It's something else being done for the public welfare.
No doubt heavy lies the crown. Everyone cannot bear the responsibilities. It's very difficult to govern and control, moreover to serve one's own country. If a king ever become confused he must take advice from his wise ministers or his own preceptor or Guru. Without the serious guidelines he cannot rule.
This was what Chandragupta Mourya did. This was what Alexander the great or Sikandar followed. No king can rule without a teacher. The complications remained till last. If a king aspires for his survival he must take shelter in the lotus feet of his preceptor.
Generally kings do not practise it and lose their kingdom. A king is admired if he is impartial, benign, caring, one-sighted, generous. If he provides justice to all.
There are only five things which the most of modern rulers could not provide to the public. Facility of pure drinking water, uninterrupted electricity, proper roads, accommodation-proper houses to live in and the proper medical aids.
It's easy to become a king but it's too hard to maintain the kingdom. No king can succeed to rule until or unless he is ready to make sacrifices for the day and night progress of his country. There are very few kings who are being adored till today and no king like Lord Sri Rama has ever come again on this earth.
I still aspire for Ram Rajya whereas I know it's impossible.
